Senator Harmon currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Revenue Committee and the Vice-chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  Rounding out his committee assignments are appointments to the Senate Environment & Energy Committee, the Senate Appropriations (II) Committee, and the Senate Pensions & Investments Committee. 

    Senator Harmon has been appointed by Governor Blagojevich to the Commission on Guardianship and Advocacy.  Senate President Emil Jones, Jr. appointed Senator Harmon to the Commission on Government Forecasting and Economic Accountability, the Board of Directors for the Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan, the Board of Trustees of the General Assembly Retirement System, the Illinois Early Learning Council, the Internet Privacy Council, and the Public Safety and Justice Task Force of the Council of State Governments .
